$75 MILLION COMMITMENT
The Dolphins organization set out to re-imagine DCC after its 10th year in 2020. The goal was simple: double the size and impact of the program by 2026. That led to the development of The DCC 365 Strategic Plan to $75M, which incorporated a multi-faceted approach to grow fundraising, cancer-research programs and community engagement year-round as opposed to just the run/walk/bike event. This new commitment required structural changes that would evolve the operating model, and a dedicated team specializing in its year-round commitment to cancer.
The DCC’s mission remained the same, however the financial commitment and reorganization re-energized the program. The DCC raised $38.5M in its first 10 years (2010-2020). With the 2020 pledge to reach $75M by the end of 2026, there was a new goal to double the annual $5.5M fundraising average to over $10M.
The $75M goal was reached in February 2024, nearly two years early, while DCC XIV raised more than $12M.
