Led by the DCC’s Executive Director and the board of advisors, uniting community leaders is crucial to strengthening the organization’s impact in the fight against cancer. The DCC’s volunteer board fosters collaboration and cooperation among leaders from businesses and nonprofits to leverage their collective expertise, resources and networks to address the multifaceted challenges posed by cancer. As a result, hundreds of South Florida’s leading organizations utilize the DCC’s platform to engage team members, drive corporate social responsibility and support fundraising efforts for South Florida’s leading cancer center.
Dolphins Challenge Cancer and AutoNation Team Up to Tackle Breast Cancer Disparities

Harris Philanthropies’ Donation to DCC Is Game Changer in Cancer Prevention and Early Detection
April 14, 2022 – In line with their commitment to strengthening communities through support that prioritizes equity, accessibility and inclusivity, Josh and Marjorie Harris, through Harris Philanthropies, their family foundation, have made a six-figure donation to the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC), the fundraising initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
New Partnership Will Increase Pediatric Cancer Research at Sylvester
February 18, 2022 - To honor the legacy of his son, Sebastian, Oscar Ortiz founded an organization dedicated to the pursuit of a cure for childhood cancer. Since its inception in 2017, the organization — SebastianStrong — has gained momentum and recently established a significant partnership with the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC), the signature initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation, to support Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, a part of UHealth – the University of Miami Health System. The goal of the partnership is to double every dollar raised, with the aim of reaching a total research investment of $1 million over the next four years.
DCC Partners with the V Foundation to Announce a $5M Commitment Focused on Disparities
February 4, 2022 – The Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) announced an expansion of its partnership with the V Foundation for Cancer Research by way of a $5M commitment to support innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth – the University of Miami Health System. The V Foundation's commitment of $500,000 a year will be matched by the DCC over the next five years, making a total of $5M funded for critical cancer research focused on disparities.
100% of all funds raised through this Miami Dolphins initiative support cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
