Director of Operations & Logistics

Amanda was born in the great state of Connecticut and spent most of her childhood skiing, biking and playing soccer in the green mountains of Vermont. After attending Stratton Mountain School ski academy she ventured off to upstate New York where she attended St. Lawrence University to pursue a degree in Psychology with a minor in Sports Studies and Exercise Sciences.

Her family’s decade’s long involvement with the Pan Mass Challenge, an annual charity bike event across Massachusetts, led her to the opportunity of an internship in South Florida at the Dolphins Cycling Challenge. After a three month internship, a successful first event in 2012, a lot of complaining about the lack of snow in South Florida, and a newly acquired fear of lizards, Amanda was offered a full time position with the event and made the decision to stay in sunny Miami!

Amanda now fills the role of Director of Operations and Logistics for the DCC – managing all aspects of ride weekend. Her favorite part about working for the DCC is picking out which motivational songs to play at the start lines and the rewarding feeling that occurs when the last rider crosses the finish line knowing everyone is home safe!

Operations & Logistics Manager

In February 1990, a legend was born in the Pacific Northwest. Will Leahy hails from the great state of Washington, specifically the greater Seattle area. After 18 years, Will left the nest and went to Eastern Washington and graduated from Washington State University in 2012. GO COUGS!

After working at the University Rec Center, the Washington State University Athletic Department and an amazing internship for the University of Hawaii Athletics on Oahu, Will packed his belongings and drove a short 55 hours from Seattle to Florida to get his MBA at Florida Atlantic University. After a year working in the Finance Department for FAU athletics and working game day operations for the Miami Dolphins, Will was hired as a staff assistant for the Dolphins Cycling Challenge in June of 2013.  Following a successful DCC IV and a whole lot of prayers, Will moved up to the Operations Coordinator, conquering grad school just one month later. Will is now the Operations and Logistics Manager, part of the team that plans & executes all logistics ride weekend.

Asking Will where he thinks he will be in five years, he stated, “Hopefully continuing to help perfect this extraordinary event and bettering the lives of others through raising millions of dollars for cancer research.”

Operations Coordinator

Anthony is a South Florida native and lifelong Miami Dolphins and Hurricanes fan. He began nonprofit work in high school sitting on the Executive Board of Best Buddies for two years, as well as work with the Wounded Warrior Project, Fairchild Challenge, and Surfrider Foundation.

Anthony’s mother and grandmother are both cancer survivors and are alive today because of innovative cancer research and treatment, similar to what is being developed every day at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The combination of family, philanthropy, and fandom are the driving forces that brought Anthony to the DCC and continue to drive him to tackle cancer.

Prior to joining the DCC staff in October 2014, Anthony spent the previous two years of college working with the Miami Dolphins’ Events & Entertainment Department. Anthony graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University in 2014.

Development Coordinator

Ashley Hendrix recently came to the DCC from The ALS Association, a nonprofit often in the news this last year with their Ice Bucket Challenge success. She spent two years as the Events Specialist running multiple events and working with ALS patients and their families to find a cure.

In west Philadelphia born and raised… in the suburbs that is… Ashley spent her days at the Jersey shore, playing sports, competitively dancing and working out. She graduated from Penn State University with a BA in Public Relations. Ashley was heavily involved with Penn State’s athletic teams working events and games for the football, basketball and baseball teams. This Penn Stater also participated in Penn State’s annual THON to end pediatric cancer for multiple years.

Ashley will be supporting DCC’s fundraising and team development, working with some of South Florida’s best cancer-fighting companies! She is excited that her passion for working for a nonprofit and her experience in sports has brought her to the DCC.

Special Events Coordinator

Kimberly Bokamper was born into the Dolphins family. As the daughter to Dolphins alumnus Kim Bokamper, Kimberly grew up in the world of sports and has always been a passionate fan. Kimberly has a personal passion for helping others and has championed organizations such as the American Lung Association and American Cancer Society. Returning back to her South Florida home, Kimberly is happy to be a new member of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge team and is excited to help tackle cancer! Go Dolphins!
